Ms. Wilma Mae Lackey Blackston, 80, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Gordon Hospice House. Born on October 30, 1942, in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Preston Day and Eva Jane Lackey Gray.

Ms. Blackston worked for the Federal Defense Supply Center (DSCC) until her retirement following 37 years of faithful service. She was a woman who loved and cherished her family and friends and was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wendell Lackey.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Robin Allison, Robert Allison and wife Mary, Kimberly Allison, Tylanda Allison, and Carrie Lumpkins and husband James; grandchildren, Kenyata, Micha, Shain, Shaila, Shaizon, Jayln, Kennidee, Jayla, Tamala, and Christian; great-grandchildren, Paul “PJ”, Jarin, Joshua, Jayden, Auana, and Jahri; her brother, William Morrison and wife Michelle; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her special cousins, Vanessa, Toadie, Vernon, and Bradley.
