Alicia Alvarez Perez, 87, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center in Mooresville.

She was born on July 10, 1936, in Mexico to the late Aurelio and Maria Alvarez. She was a member of the Mooresville Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, taking care of her chickens, coffee shops, thrift stores, and going to the Post Office.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alejos Perez; children, Jose Eduardo Perez and an infant daughter; and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Alejos Perez Jr. and wife Ines, Teresita Hernandez and husband Andres, Rosa Cordova and husband Cesar, Anita Johansson and husband Raimond, Alicia Perez, Hattie Walker, and Judy Jenkins and husband Gregory; brothers, Arnoldo Alvarez and Alberto Alvarez; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and her dog, Chiquita.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 19, at Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Bishop Matt Decker officiating.
