Mr. Anthony Jerome Dye Jr., 28, of 1120 Alexander Street, Statesville, N.C., was born in Iredell County on August 15, 1995, and was the son of Anthony Jerome Dye Sr. and Emma McClain Dye. He departed this life on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, N.C.

A.J., as he was affectionately called, was a graduate of Alexander Central High School in 2013, and also attended Mitchell Community College. He loved to sing, cook, wrestle, box and fish, but most of all loved he his family, his nieces and nephews.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life, in addition to his father, Anthony, and his mother, Emma, his siblings, Geneva LaShay Dye and James Charles Dye, both of Statesville; his niece and nephew, Autumn Marie Dye Clark and Landon Zachariah Clark; his aunt, Pamela Chambers of Statesville; special cousin, Darian Campbell; special friends, Dondre Johnson, Joshua Thomas, Xavier Poole and Dontell; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Members of the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times. Burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery.
