Barbara Manus Carmack, a beloved member of the Davidson, N.C., community, passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on September 17, 2024, at Autumn Care of Cornelius.
Barbara was born on October 2, 1943, in Mecklenburg County, N.C., to her late parents, William Robert Manus III and Keith Anderson Thomas Manus. A proud graduate of Kings Business College, Barbara dedicated many years as an office assistant at Davidson College before her well-deserved retirement.

Carmack II and wife Amie, Keith Carmack and wife Shannon, Leigh Anne Thornhill and husband Doug, Kurt Carmack and wife Erica, and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Carmack; along with her dedicated caretaker Ann McCorkle. She cherished her role as a devoted mother and grandmother to her adoring grandchildren, Sara Grace, Allie, Cody, Cole, Gavin, Gregory, Sidney, Grady, Audrey, and Kelsey; and great-grandchildren, Amelia and Dawson. She also is survived by her sister, Sarah Haston, and Sarah’s husband Johnny, and many nieces and nephews she adored.
