Barbara Dale Tribble Melvin, 87, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024. She was born in Washington, D.C., on November 29, 1936, to Lawrence Moore Tribble and Nancy Wolfe Tribble.

She was a member of Fallstown Baptist Church in Troutman. She was an avid reader, who also enjoyed painting ceramics and Southern life.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Tara Melvin; great granddaughter, Clara Menster; and brother-in-law, Michael Lepak.

She is survived by her sons, Lawrence Wayne Melvin (Melissa) of Statesville, David Wayde Melvin of Salt Lake City, Utah, and James Dennis Melvin (Pamela) of Flower Mound, Texas; daughters, Tamara Melvin Flaugher (Doug) of Peachtree Corners, Ga., and Michelle Mary Melvin (Rob Anderson) of Fairfax Station, Va.; sister, Beverly Tribble Lepak of Millville, Del.; grandchildren, Alicia Menster (Jacob) of Statesville, Justin Melvin of Statesville, Heather Blancett (Evan) of Reno, Nev., Sarah Fritzky (Scott) of Concord, Samantha Ponton (Santiago) of Atlanta, Ga., Jessica Anderson, of Fairfax Station, Va., Tahnee Melvin of Park City, Utah, Katherine Melvin of Manhattan, N.Y., and Dennis Melvin of Allen, Texas; nine great grandchildren; and a special niece, Lesa Lepak of Millville, Del.

A memorial service for Mrs. Melvin will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Mountain Road Baptist Church in Statesville. Reverend David Troutman will officiate.
