Barry Preston Huffman, 76, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully from natural causes at S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House, surrounded by beloved family and friends, at 8 p.m. on March 15, 2024.

Barry was born on May 18, 1947. He was preceded in spiritual transition by his mother, Irene Witherspoon, and his sisters, Sherry Reid and Barbara Anderson.

Barry is survived by his faithful, loving, and devoted wife of more than fifty-two years, Linda Argo Huffman; and their two sons, Brandon Roy and Mikie Huffman. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Blake, Aliyah, and Michael, countless nieces and nephews, his beloved sister, Brenda Ward, and a brother, Larry Huffman.

Barry was a veteran proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army. He was a hard-working and valued employee for Iredell Transportation, and later for the Town of Mooresville while also serving the community as a talented landscaper.

Barry loved his loyal companion and friend, his dog, Hershey Hernandez. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing with friends and family. He was enthusiastic about gardening and was a skilled mechanic.

The Huffman family humbly appreciates the overwhelming outpouring of comfort and support from Pastor Nathan Finsel of Fair View UMC and S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House as well as family, neighbors, friends, and the community.
