Bettie Jordan Waugh, 83, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Glenwood Rehab and Nursing in Mooresville.

She was born on March 29, 1941, in Mooresville to the late John Adam Jordan and Sadie Honeycutt Jordan. Mrs. Waugh was retired from Burlington Industries. She enjoyed gardening and cooking, but mostly taking care of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lonnie Waugh; sisters, Dorothy Puitt, Grace Reep, Johnsie McAlister, and Margaret Dingler; and brothers, George Jordan and Robert Jordan.

She is survived by her children, Tammy Whitener (Tim), Teresa Reid (Chris), and Wayne Waugh (Marilynn); sister, Judy Nichols; grandchildren, Stephen Parris, Ashley P. Eggert (Jeremy), Daniel Whitener, Justin Reid, Andrew Reid, Robbie Waugh, Litisha Waugh, and Thomas Waugh; great grandchildren, Luke Eggert (Jessica), Sadie Waugh, Rosey Waugh, Alivia Reid, Mason Reid, Ellie Brown, and Hardy Waugh; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 4, from 1 to 2 p.m. with a service following at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Chaplain Eddie Karriker officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
