Boyce “John” Eugene Jenkins, 79, of Stony Point, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at his home.

He was born August 5, 1944, in Mecklenburg County, N.C., to the late Daniel Jenkins and Exie Montieth Jenkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Whitlow Jenkins; a son, Little John Jenkins; siblings, Clinton, Danny Jo, Paul, and Cecil Jenkins, and Lavone Johnson; and half-sister, Margie Honeycutt.

Boyce attended Community Baptist Church. He was a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and wood working in his carpentry business.

Boyce is survived by his children, Missy Stewart and Daniel Jenkins (Beth); grandchildren, Coley Stewart (Kristen), Samantha Stewart, and Eliza, Wyatt, Lydia, and Clinton Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Rylee Stewart, Nathan Hook, Kasen Stewart, Kylynn Stewart, and Kash Stewart; and many extended family members.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, July 29, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Community Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. with Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
