Brenda Mohler, 79, of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully while surrounded by loved ones on June 27, 2024. She was born February 23, 1945, in Iredell County to the late Robert Hicks and Geneva Lundy.

Brenda owned and ran The Jewel Shop from the 1960s until 2005. She was an avid gardener and lover of flowers. She was a member of Hams Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Mohler, and one sister, Geraldine Grant.

Survivors include three sons, Ricky Mohler of Statesville and late wife Karen, Terry Mohler and wife Cheryl of Statesville, and Timmy Mohler and wife Diane of Statesville; one daughter, Vickie Ray and husband Russell of Statesville; one brother, Gary Hicks (Lesa) of Statesville; and numerous grandchildren and great children.

A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Hams Grove Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Pastor Dale Hager will officiate. There will be no formal visitation. The family will gather at the house of Vickie and Russell Ray, 131 Mohler Lane, Statesville, NC 28625. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Hospice of Iredell County.
