Caroline Lambert Houston, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, in Concord, N.C. She was born on September 16, 1946, in Iredell County to Kenneth Lambert and Jessie Trivette Matlock.

Caroline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Ray Houston; and daughter, Kimberly Delores Bustle.

She is survived by her son, Harold Lee Bustle; daughters, Ellen Patrick, Gina Shumaker, Tammy Moehlenpah, Cassaundra Hefner, and Corella Grubbs; grandchildren, Michael Bustle, Derrick Bustle, Brian Bustle, Kelly Martin, Justin Houston, Jordan Houston, and Ana Martin; and 12 great grandchildren.

Caroline spent a lifetime devoted to caring for her seven children; she had a deep love for her family and the Lord. Caroline was a talented musician and she often played the piano, electric guitar, bass, banjo, and most any instrument by ear. As well as reading music, she also spent time writing gospel songs. In addition to her music. she spent time thrifting and flea marketing, where she enjoyed “fellowship.”

There was a special place in her heart for the Bunton family of Truevine Church. The loving Bunton family has been there for the Houston family for decades.

The family would like to thank the team at West Iredell Dialysis for so many years of taking such great care of our mother, and who were always kind to her on the good days and the hard days.

In the words of Caroline: “I’m ok”
