Carolyn Phillips Bowles, 91, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 23, 1933, in Clay County, N.C., to the late UT and Margaret Sellers Phillips.

Mrs. Bowles was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church in Mooresville for many years. She was a faithful and mighty prayer warrior and her faith was unmoved. Her friendships that were cultivated through her service at church were priceless. She enjoyed gardening, reading, working in her flowers, and word search puzzles; however, her family was most important.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Buddy Bowles; son, Steve Bowles; and brothers, TG Phillips and Donald Phillips.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Nance, and Julia Hager and husband Tommy; brothers, Doogan Phillips and wife Becky, and Skeeter Phillips and wife Jenny; sisters-in-law, Nell Bowles, Carol Phillips, and Mary Lou Phillips; six grands, Nikki Nance and wife Lane, Kristi Bowers and husband David, Scott Hager and wife Jane, Levi Nance, Tasha Bowles, and Casey Samuels; and six great grands.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Hal Greene and Rev. David Klinedinst officiating, The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
