Cathy Jo Brown Seipel, 74, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C.

She was born on June 9, 1950, in Mooresville to Margaret Smith Thompson and the late Ralph Junior Brown. Mrs. Seipel had retired from IBM and was a member of Broad Street Church in Mooresville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen “Doc” Seipel; and brothers, Bennett Brown and Andrew Thompson.

She is survived by her stepdaughter, Angela Ellington (Dan); sister, Robin Ballard (Tom); brothers, Wayne Thompson (Patti), Jackie Brown (Darlene), Jeff Brown (Rhonda), Tony Thompson (Sharon), and Scott Brown (Donna); sister-in-law, Chery Brown; grandchildren, Amber Byrd (Brandon), Paige Hamb (Austin), and Luke Ellington (Emma); great grandchildren, Madison, Sarah, Joshua, Natalie, and Oliver; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 23, from 10 to 11 a.m. with a service following at 11 a.m. at Broad Street Church with Rev. Gary Sowell officiating. Burial will follow the service at 1 p.m. at Iredell Memorial Park in Statesville.
