Charles Grady “Pete” Archie, a beloved resident of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024, in his home at the age of 89. Born in Mooresville on May 9, 1935, Charles was a dedicated maintenance worker in the manufacturing industry, devoting his time and skills to Fiber Industries.
Throughout his life, Pete was known for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to his family. He was a great cook and avid NASCAR fan. Pete leaves behind his loving spouse, Beverly Archie, with whom he shared many years of happiness and memories.
As a member of the Mooresville community, Pete touched the lives of many with his generosity and warm spirit. His legacy of hard work and compassion will forever be remembered by those who knew him.
Pete was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Archie Swing; siblings and their spouses, Louis Archie, Teldon Archie and Bill (JoRetta) Archie, Elva Archie Bass, Faynell (Fill) Ratledge and Margaret (Arthur) Ratledge; brother-in-law, Roger Brookshire; and some nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Dean Archie; grandson, Jason Swing; great granddaughter, Liza Jean Swing; sister, Peggy Archie Brookshire; brother, Gary (Nancy) Archie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Pete’s caregivers, August, Anna, Yvette and Yvonne and “Handy Man,” Roger Lambert.
There will be no services held at this time.
