Charles Elmer Knowlton Jr., 75, of Troutman, N.C., passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
Charles was born on July 5, 1949, in Lincoln, Maine, son of the late Charles Elmer Knowlton Sr. and Olga Holzinger Knowlton. He proudly served in the U.S. National Guard for 28 years and obtained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Charles enjoyed doing woodworking and paint by number and puzzles in his free time, and above all else, he loved his family.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Flora Flores, and grandson, Cam Trudelle.
Those left to cherish the memory of Charles include his wife, Olga Flores; daughter, Kelly Trudelle (Pete); son, Jeffrey Knowlton (Kala); grandsons, Zack Trudelle, and Graham, Leo and Finn Knowlton; and brother, Larry Knowlton. Charles is also survived by numerous extended family members.
The family will visit with friends Saturday, November 30, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Troutman Funeral Home. Funeral services with full military honors will follow at 11 a.m.. Burial will be held at a later date at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield, Conn.
