Dalton Pierce Campbell Sr., 88, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024. He was born on December 16, 1935, in Iredell County to the late William Francis Campbell and Thelma Alexander Campbell of Harmony.

Dalton graduated from Harmony High School. He worked in construction and enjoyed fishing, football, and racing. Dalton most of all, dearly loved his family and his dog, Nova.

In addition to his parents, Dalton was preceded in death by his son, Darrell Lynn Campbell; his brothers, Robert Campbell, Julian Campbell, and Elmer Campbell; and his sister, Kathleen C. Martin.

Those left to cherish the life of Dalton are his brother, Melvin Campbell (Odessa); his children, Donna Sue Campbell Sigmon of Newton, Dalton “Dody” Campbell Jr. (Glenda) of Statesville, and Brigitte Alaine Campbell of Statesville; his grandchildren, Erica Paquin (Victor), Christina Saunders (Mark), Grace Tuttle (Marty), and William Campbell; his great-grandchildren, Reagan Saunders, Gabriella Hernandez, Sawyer Saunders, and Annabelle Hernandez; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in the near future and details will be publicized as soon as they are available. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked to consider donations to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625 and the Iredell County Animal Shelter, 430 Bristol Drive, Statesville, NC 28677.
