David Lee Dew, 45, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at his residence.

He was born on March 13, 1979, in Waterloo, Iowa, to the late Ronald and Shirley Knipp Dew. David received his Drafting degree from South Georgia Technical School and was employed with Gaylor Electric. He was a NASCAR fan, especially Kevin Harvick and William Bryon. He was also an avid Star Wars and Corvette fan. Dr. Pepper was his drink of choice. David enjoyed gaming with his friends, D&D, Xbox, board games and Mexican Train Dominoes, LEGOS, especially Star Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Braun Dew; fur baby, Casper; brother, Jonathon Dew (Shelli); sisters, Jennifer Reed (Scott) and Michelle Martin (Jason); nieces and nephews, Scott Reed Jr., Dylan Reed, Kimberlee Harkness (Aaron), Zackary Reed, Cretia Martin, Jay Williams, Collin Williams (Julia), Haley Martin, Christopher McKnight, and Emily McKnight; great nieces and nephews, Lilli, Ella, Roman, Royal, Remiese, Skyler, and Brooklyn; mother-in-law, Carol Filighera; and sister-in-law, Paige Hannah.

A Celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date, and always May The Force Be With You.
