David Raymond Ross, 75, was born in St. Lawrence, N.Y., to the late Mrs. Elsie Louise Blackwell on March 11, 1949. He entered into eternal life on November 16, 2024, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville, N.C. In addition to his mother, he he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Hall Jr., “Spike” and Tensley Rucker.

David attended the Iredell County school system. He was a custodian for Iredell-Statesville Schools. He also was employed by Toter Mills Manufacturing Company and Clark Schwebel, from where he retired. David was a member at one time of Mt. Pleasant AME Zion Church.

He leaves to cherish the memory of his life one daughter, Latoya Morrison; five brothers, Greg Rucker, Lylod Rucker, Gary Rucker, Rickey Rucker, and Freddie Rucker; six sisters, Tewanna Rucker Lawrence, Jackie Rucker Robertson, Gloria Rucker, Brenda Dean, Deborah Rucker, and Sheela Rucker; three grandchildren, Shieam Torrence, Keyara Torrence, and Keith Torrence Jr.; and a host of other nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of life will be held at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Belmont Cemetery. Visit the book of memories for David Raymond Ross at www.rutledgeandbigham.com.
