Doris Stevenson Coleman, 79, of Statesville, N.C., died Monday, June 17, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House.
Born in Iredell County on January 15,1945, she was a daughter of the late Rome Stevenson and Addie Mae Peet Stevenson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Coleman; a son, Gabriel E. Coleman; and five siblings, Carol Steele, Julia McClelland, Donnie Stevenson, Joe Lewis Stevenson and Martha Stevenson.
Doris retired from the textile industry. She loved her rose bushes, flowers, and makeup. She dearly loved her family.
Survivors include sons, Jeffrey, Billy and Bradley Stevenson and Shon Coleman; daughters, Padge and Sasha Coleman; along with brothers, Buddy Stevenson, Freddie Stevenson (Rosalyn) and James Stevenson (Ella); and sisters, Mildred Ramseur (Shirley), Kay Frances Gillespie (Harrison), Betty Jo Eckles, Clarice Stevenson, Queen Steele and Lillian Dye. Additional survivors include a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, aunts, uncles and cousins, including a special aunt, Lucille Patterson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Logan Presbyterian Church, 209 Logan New Amity Road, Scotts, N.C., with Rev. Ziglar presiding. The family will greet friends from 1:30 until 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
