Dorothy Ann Rogers Baity, a beloved resident of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Born on August 1, 1945, in Rowan County, Dorothy was the loving daughter of the late Albert Lewis Rogers and Alberta Alice McCullough Rogers. She was a dedicated homemaker who found joy in simple pleasures like gardening, dancing, walking, cooking, and baking.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James Harvey Baity Sr.; her son, Rodney Bradford Baity; and her sister, Brenda Ellison. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Sharon Robertson, and husband Allen; her son, James H. Baity Jr., and wife Sabrina; her brother, Albert Lewis Rogers Jr., and wife Peggy; and her sister, Priscilla Rogers Boyce, and husband Jo; as well as nine grandchildren.

Funeral services to honor Dorothy’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 4  p.m. at the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville. Prior to the service, friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home from 3 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that any memorials be directed to the MUSC Children’s Health Burn Center at Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, 10 McClennan Banks Drive, Charleston, SC 29425.
