Dorothy Reavis Barr, 75 of Stony Point, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2024 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Dorothy was born October 10, 1948, to the late William Reavis and Daisy Mae Welborn Chatham.

She was a member of Faith Temple Church and was a very loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Franklin Barr.

Survivors include her six sons, Jerry Barr and spouse Nancy of Pasadena, Texas. Garry Barr and spouse Michael of Belton, Texas, Kirk Reavis and spouse Marina Yates of Stony Point, David Franklin Barr Jr. and spouse Cherly of Angleton, Texas, Justin Reavis of Stony Point, and Kelly Barr of Stony Point; one daughter, Mary Darlene Guiterez and spouse Mary of Texas; two brothers, Bill Reavis of Stony Point and Bobby Reavis of Stony Point; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday May 23, 2024, at 5 p.m. at Faith Temple Church. Pastor Dan Spears and Pastor Lucas Green will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church pavilion after the services. Memorials may be given to Faith Temple Church, 937 Cheatham Ford Road, Hiddenite, NC 28636.
