Dreama Gail Loar Birchfield, 75, of Statesville, N.C., died Friday, January 19, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Bradford County, Pa., to the late James Percy Loar and Eva Margaret Jordan Loar.

Dreama was a graduate of Trap Hill High School in Surveyor, W.Va., and worked in custom decorating for JC Penney. She loved reading crime novels and watching crime shows on television. She loved swimming, being outdoors, and her cats. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her granddaughter.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Bob Birchfield; daughter, Aleasha Southern (John); granddaughter, Kaitlyn Wallace; a brother, Charles Alex Loar; and a sister, Donna Straub of New York.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Iredell Memoria Gardens with Rev. Dale Milstead officiating.
