Edward Odell Brooks, 85, of Troutman, N.C., passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Born on December 7, 1938, he was the husband of Evelyn Carol Howard Brooks and the son of the late Edward Eugene and Bonnie Childers Brooks.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was a retired Captain of the Mecklenburg Police Department after 30 years of service. He was a member of Founded in Truth Church in Rock Hill, S.C.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Carolina Memorial Park Chapel in Kannapolis with his son Edward Brooks and Rev. Matthew Vanderels officiating. Entombment will follow the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 p.m. in the Chapel.
