Estelle “Joy” Burke Hall, 94, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on May 25, 2024, at TerraBella Lake Norman.

She was born January 27, 1930, in Louisiana to the late John Brack Burke and Leona L. Ellis Burke. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, John Thomas Hall Jr. and Dawson Wilkins; daughter, Laura Lee Hall Kass; and brother, Kenneth Burke.

Joy was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, antiquing, quilting, and cooking. She graduated from Jefferson Parish High School in 1948. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Joy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by her children, Mark S. Hall (Loise Trivette), and John Thomas Hall III; grandchildren, Mark Jr., Connie, Gabriel, Hamilton, Tina, Joni, and John (“JT”), and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Joy’s Life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend thanks to the staff of TerraBella of Lake Norman and all the caregivers of Via Health Partners, Hospice and Palliative Care, and the other loving caregivers that helped care for Joy for the past five years.
