Felipe “Phil” Estuardo Saenz, 63, of Mooresville, N.C., and formerly of Massachusetts, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at home surrounded by his wife. He will be remembered for his warm spirit and devotion to family.

Born in Guatemala on March 18, 1961, he was a son of the late Carlos Enrique Saenz and Maria Guadalupe Aguilar. Phil was also preceded in death by a brother, Carlos Enrique Saenz. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him best.

Prioritizing time with his loved ones, Phil found joy in spending quality moments with his wife Beatriz, and their children. As an avid sports enthusiast, he took delight in watching games and sharing his knowledge and passion with his children. Phil’s favorite place to be at home was enjoying his backyard, where he hosted weekend barbeques. A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, Phil’s unwavering love and support were felt by all who knew him.

Phil’s nurturing nature extended beyond his immediate family, as he shared special bonds with his sisters, nieces, nephews, and many friends. His caring and genuine presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Beatriz Saenz; son, Steven Saenz and wife Mackenzie; daughter, Michelle Smith and husband Christopher; granddaughter, Gracelyn Mae Smith; grandson, Elias Reid Saenz; sisters, Marielena Escobar, Ana Violeta Saenz, Monica del Rossario Saenz, and Maria Elizabeth Saenz; mother- and father-in-law, Antonio Jose Gamba and Beatriz Gamba-Jimenez; nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of Phil’s life will be held in the future, offering an opportunity for loved ones to come together and honor his memory. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff, friends, and community members who provided compassionate care and support during Felipe’s time of need.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The American Diabetes Association are welcomed in honor of Phil’s memory.

His legacy of love, kindness, and family values will forever be treasured by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Phil will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
