Frances Bruner Moten was born in Iredell County on February 25, 1938, to the late James Alexander Bruner and Genevieve Morrison Bruner. She departed this life on December 10, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C.

Frances graduated from Unity High School in Statesville. She was employed and retired from International Paper in Statesville. As a child, she attended Freedom Presbyterian Church in Statesville, and she attended Highland Acres Church of Christ until her passing.

She was married to Paul Moten, who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband, Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, George Bruner and Alexander M. (Sonny) Bruner; special cousin, Margaret Parker; and a host of other beloved family members.

She leaves to cherish the memories of her life, a son, Paul Vincent (Yolanda) Moten; a sister, Kathy Bruner Rankin; a special nephew, Jomo Rankin; nieces, Wanda Bruner Saner, Paula Bruner, Sherry Bruner and Millicent Bruner; a nephew, Richard (Angie) Bruner; a host of cousins, including special cousins, Evie (Deland) Myers, Renee Moore, Anita Linney, Virginia (Cookie) Morrison, and Jerry Morrison; and other relatives, neighbors, Highland Acres Church of Christ church family and friends in her community.

Special thanks to the nursing staff at Iredell Memorial Hospital and Gordon Hospice House for the excellent care and compassion shown to my beloved mother.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Sunday, December 15, at Highland Acres Church of Christ at 2 p.m. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until 2 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Freedom Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
