Gladious Fore Wilson, 81, of Statesville, N.C., died Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House.

She was born in Gaston County on November 29, 1942, to the late William Ernest Fore and Ila Mae Smith Fore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Don L. Wilson Sr.; a son, Don L. Wilson Jr.; two sisters, Mary Sue Hester and Polly Strickland; and six infant brothers.

Gladious graduated from Brevard City Schools and was a lifelong member of the Baptist faith and a member of Southview Baptist Church. For several years she was a stay-at-home mom and then went to work in the office of Dr. Richard Adams, whom she worked with for over 30 years. Gladious loved people and would do anything she could to help someone. She loved cooking, going to the beach and mountains, and she especially loved her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Donna Yoder (Robert) and Lisa Bowman (David); eight grandchildren, Joshua Yoder, Sarah Yoder, Ashley Bumgarner, Kristen Bowman, Nicholas Bowman, Elizabeth Mountain, Jessica Lundy, and Kathryn Martin; nine great-grandchildren, Eva Bumgarner, Ila Bumgarner, Vada Bumgarner, Olivia Henry, Marisela Christian, Jude Mountain, Silas Mountain, Jordan Christian, and Annabelle Martin; and several nieces, nephews and other family members.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 12 noon at Southview Baptist Church with Pastor Justin Kimmer and Pastor Walter Wagner officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the church prior to the service.
