Mrs. Gloria Elaine Reid Ramseur, beloved daughter of Louis Allen Reid and Sarah “Sadie” Scott Reid, was born in Iredell County, on December21, 1948. She entered into eternal life on Friday, May 31, 2024, at her residence.

She was married to James Rodney Ramseur, who preceded her in death; also, Kenneth Reid, Melvin Reid June Reid, Herbert Reid, and Lula Mae Stovall.

Gloria received her education at Unity High School and graduated from South Iredell High School in 1967. She grew up in the Zion Wesley Community in Troutman, N.C. She enjoyed gardening flowers, and seek and find crossword puzzles. She had a deep love for her community, and was the life of the party. Gloria will truly be missed.

Gloria leaves to cherish her memory one son, James Rosner Ramseur Jr. (Dana) of Greensboro; one daughter, Latoya (James) Lester Jr.; sisters-in-law, Alma Reid, Lorna Ramseur, Debbie Ramseur, Elizabeth Ramseur, Carol Ramseur, and Mary Tatum; brothers-in-law, Robert Ramseur and Donnie Ramseur; nephew, Steven Starks; niece, Phyllis Starks; two grandchildren, Kendyl Ramseur and Kalaya Ramseur; a honorary grandson, Kemani Starks; and a host of cousins other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Zion Wesley AME Zion Church in Troutman N.C., with Reverend Bobbi Samuels officiating.
