Goethe “Jake” Wilkins Marsh III, 77, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 29, 2024. He was born on December 20, 1946, in Wilson, N.C., to the late Geothe Wilkins Marsh II and Margaret Daniel Marsh.

Jake enjoyed shooting and scuba diving, and he was very passionate about flying and boating. He was extremely detail oriented, giving, generous, and witty. He never met a stranger and had an infectious smile. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Jack Marsh.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Britt Dillon Marsh; sons, Nathan Marsh (Laura) and Butch Marsh (Nancy); stepdaughter, McKenzie Wilson; sister, Louise Pariser; grandson, Benjamin “Benny” Marsh; and a multitude of friends and family.

The family will hold a private celebration of life.
