Harold Albert Johnson Jr., 87, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at his residence.
He was born on November 3, 1936, in Belford, N.J., to the late Harold Albert Johnson and Jessie Johnson. Mr. Johnson followed the family trade as a commercial fisherman for years until a severe injury ended this for him. After a year of recovery, he enrolled and graduated from Lincoln Technical School in Newark, N.J. In 2003, he retired as a highly proficient HVAC mechanic. Harold was serious about his hobbies and developed expertise in hunting, fishing, and shooting both archery and guns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a son, Harold Johnson III; and brothers, Fred, Ralph, and Jerry.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia McGuire Johnson; sons, John Johnson and Ronald Johnson; sisters, Millie and Joyce; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville. The family will also have a Celebration of Life later this summer.
