Harry Cletus Knox III, 77, of Huntersville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House.
He was born January 3, 1947, in Charlotte, N.C., to the late Harry Cletus Knox Jr. and Jane Frances Barnette Knox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepsister, Kathy Mullis Tucker.
Harry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, doing two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant.
Harry worked most of his adult life in Atlanta, Ga., in banking. He was a lifetime member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Cornelius, N.C. He enjoyed hunting but his passion was fishing.
He is survived by his brother, John B. Knox; stepmother, Edna R. Knox; and stepbrothers, Joe Mullis and Michael Mullis.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 18, at 3 p.m. at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 19920 Bethel Church Road, Cornelius, N.C., with full military honors. The service will be dedicated to all Veterans that served our country especially those that fought in the Vietnam War, who never received the recognition and honor that they were entitled to receive.
