Helen Bennett Peterson, 84, of Taylorsville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at her home. She was born April 25, 1940, in Mitchell County, the daughter of the late Frank and Julie Bennett.

Helen was a machine operator for Southern Devices for 30 years and was of the Baptist faith. She was a very loving mother and enjoyed collecting pictures and video taping but most of all looking after her children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Peterson; two children, Donna Minor and Eddie Peterson; a grandchild, Shannon Peterson; and two sisters, Martha Bennett and Lena Johnson.

Those left to cherish her memories include her children, Jessie Lackey, Elbert Peterson, Randall Peterson, and Debbie Green; her grandchildren, Whitney, Misty, Summer, Chelsea, Dustin, Bradley, and Andy; numerous great-grandchildren; her siblings, R.L. Bennett, Rotha Bennett, Darlene and Bennett; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024, in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Sam Vallini will officiate. Burial will follow in the Taylorsville City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service.

Memorial donations may be made to a hospice of donor’s choice.
