Mr. Henry Wells Tomlin, 81, of Harmony, N.C., went to his heavenly home on May 6, 2024, at his home.

Born in Iredell County, he was a son of the late Sam Tomlin and Dade Welborn Tomlin. He was formerly a maintenance mechanic at J. P. Stevens in Turnersburg. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and was involved in many activities there. He enjoyed gardening, farming, loved the outdoors and operating his tractor and mowing. He and his wife used to enjoy golf cart rides and walks in the woods.

He was preceded in death by his wife Clara Jane Johnson Tomlin in January of 2024. They would have been married 59 years this year. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Tomlin, and a sister, Bobby Jane Elledge.

Survivors include a daughter, Tandra Grant (John), and a brother, Robert N. Tomlin, along with grandchildren, Adam Grant (Emily), Savannah Grant and fiancé Kevin Jarrell, a great-granddaughter, Peyton, and a great-grandson on the way, and his fur grandbabies, Chunk and Roscoe.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Jacob Scott and Rev. John Whalen officiating. The family will greet friends in the church family life center from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service and burial will follow in the Harmony Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County and all who came to visit during his illness, for the love shown to Henry.
