Herbert Hoover Robinson Jr. (Herb and affectionately called Herbie) passed away at age 74 on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at his home in Taylorsville, N.C., as a result of an illness with his loving family by his side.

Herb was born May 29, 1950, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Marie Elizabeth Robinson (Lindsay/Gregory) and the late Herbert Hoover Robinson.

Herb moved to the area in August of 1990 to share his hope from the Bible regarding the Good News of God’s Kingdom in association with the Taylorsville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. To support himself and family in this ministry, Herb took on various odd jobs with different small companies that fellow friends operated like waterproofing, window washing, electrical, cement work and insurance/inspection. When his daughter Judith was born in 1992, Herb took on full-time employment with American Roller Bearing in Hiddenite, N.C., until the Great Recession. He then attended Catawba Valley Community College until he retired in 2012.

At the time of Herb’s passing, he was a member of the East Statesville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Statesville. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Joyce Marie Robinson (Smith), and his cherished daughter, Judith G. Robinson, and a host of dear family and friends.
