Irene Kostura Gorelick, 97, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at The Greens at Maple Leaf in Statesville, N.C.

She was born on October 31, 1926, in Minersville, Pa., to the late John and Mary Polock Kostura. Mrs. Gorelick was a retired Registered Nurse and served in the Nurse Corps during WWII. She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Congers, N.Y. She enjoyed traveling, rescuing animals, and was a very independent woman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Gorelick.

She is survived by her son, Barry Gorelick and wife Rosemarie; grandsons, Brian Gorelick and Daniel Gorelick; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

All services will be held in New Hempstead, N.Y.
