James Henry Dishman, 77, of Hiddenite, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at his home. James was born July 27, 1946, in Iredell County to the late Floyd Reid Dishman and Leeomia McHargue Dishman.
He was retired from public transport.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one, son James Henry Jr.; one daughter, Angela Gail Dishman Minton; and one brother, William Dishman.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Patricia Pace Dishman of the home; two sons, Jamie Todd Dishman and fiancée Audrey Anderson of Hiddenite., and Timothy Dale Dishman and wife Stephanie Jo of Hiddenite; one sister, Rachel Dishman Johnson of Statesville; and six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Pisgah Methodist Church Cemetery. Pastor Matt Harrold will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service. Memorials may be given to Pisgah Methodist Church, 488 Hill Farm Road, Hiddenite, NC 28636.

Dear Pat: I am so sorry for your loss. I really like James and his friendliness and down to earth manner. He was always so nice to me. I know how this feels having lost my husband 32 years ago at 52 years old.
