James “Ray” Raymond Washam, 93, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Novant Health-Huntersville. Born August 13, 1930, in Davidson, N.C., he was a son of the late S.W. and Sarah “Sally” Whitlow Washam.

Mr. Washam was a retired Hardware Consultant for Pleasants Hardware in Charlotte. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Mr. Washam was a member of Centre Presbyterian Church in Mooresville, where he served as an Elder. He loved to surf fish at the beach, bass fish at the lake and indulge in his wife’s home cooking.

Mr. Washam was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Nance Washam; and sons, Steve Washam and Mike Washam.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Centre Presbyterian Church, Mooresville, with Rev. Logan Keck officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville.
