James Timothy “Tim” Easterling, 64, of Statesville, N.C., died on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at his home.

He was born in Charleston, S.C., on October 5, 1959, to the late Carl Declay Easterling and Lois Dye Easterling. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Lee Easterling.

Tim was a sports fan, especially loving the UNC Tar Heels basketball, Carolina Panthers, and Dale Earnhardt racing. He enjoyed sitting outside, listening to music, going to the beach, and going out to eat with his wife. More than anything, he loved his family and spending time with them.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 36 years, Susie Brooks Easterling; three sons, Jason Shane Easterling, Timothy Wayne Easterling, and James Kevin Easterling; a daughter, Samantha Sue Easterling; five grandchildren, Kolby, Kyle, Jeremy Jr., Jamison, and Damien Shane; four brothers, Ronnie Easterling, CJ Easterling, Keith Easterling, and Carl Easterling; his fur baby, Tiny; and three grandpups, Maggie, Buddy and Biscuit.

A gathering of friends will be held Sunday, May 26, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the home.
