Jane Farris Mayhew, 72, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at her home. She was born May 24, 1952, in Shelby, N.C., to the late James Lander Farris and Magnolia Carter Farris.

Jane was an elementary school teacher before her retirement. She was an active member of Rocky Mount Church. She was a volunteer for the Guardian Ad Litem Program to advocate for children who have been neglected or abused. Jane enjoyed cooking and decorating.

She is survived by her husband, Michael “Mike” Mayhew.

A graveside service will be on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Rocky Mount Church Cemetery with Rev. Jamie Hamrick officiating.
