On September 3, 2024, Janet Marie Haseley passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Janet was born on June 22, 1954, in Binghamton, N.Y., to Raymond McNamara and Eileen Heslin McNamara.

A graduate of Corning Community College and Alfred State College, Janet worked for many years as a registered nurse, caring for mothers and their babies. Janet ushered in new life on a daily basis, giving young women the tools, confidence and strength they needed to take care of their children and themselves.

Janet was a woman ahead of her time. She was a model of open-mindedness, freedom of thought and action, and the beauty of loving connection. Jan welcomed everyone and made it okay to be your one wild, beautiful self. To so many, she was the foundation of the music that sustains our souls. Her home was a sanctuary for friends, family and anyone in need.

Above all, Janet’s children and grandchildren were her greatest love and most profound joy.

Janet is survived by her husband, Rob Haseley; daughter, Kathleen Marie Haseley; son, Christopher (Hillary) Haseley; grandsons, Luke Smith, Noah Smith, and Dax Haseley; brothers, David McNamara and Michael McNamara; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In Janet’s memory, we will work together to love and support each other; to share with the world and our communities her kindness and her strength; to focus on the beauty of this life and this world; and together, let her light in.

A service in Janet’s memory will be held at St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, 217 Brawley School Road, Mooresville, N.C., at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024.

Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is serving the Haseley family. Condolences may be made to the family at www.cavin-cook.com.
