It is with great sadness to inform you that Jeffrey Allen Ammerman went to be with our Lord on May 30, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. He had just celebrated his 62nd birthday.

Jeff was born and raised in Pennsylvania and settled in North Carolina in 2012, where he met his wife Christina. He was a graduate of Emery Riddle Aeronautical University. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the USS Constellation air carrier. After 23 years of service in active duty, active reserves, and inactive reserves, Jeff officially retired from the Navy in 2005.

Jeff had a successful career as a transportation terminal manager before his retirement in 2021 due to illness. He was a natural born leader and had a heart for mentoring and training others. Jeff loved the outdoors and nature, taking great pride in his lawn and garden and riding his John Deere tractor. Some of his happiest times were traveling with his wife, spending time at the beach, fishing, kayaking, hiking, chasing waterfalls and identifying birds in his yard. He loved football and was an avid Eagles fan.

He was a man of great faith and attended Elevation LKN Church. Most of all, he loved Jesus, his daily Bible studies, volunteering, and serving as the Usher Coordinator at his church. Jeff was a true man of integrity and led by example. He held himself to a high level of excellence and mentored others to be their best, through encouragement and love. He was a true and faithful friend and a safe place for so many. His life story was a true testimony of redemption, growth, transformation, consistency, commitment, hope, kindness, grace, and faith in action.

He is survived by his loving wife, Christina McManamy Ammerman; son Kyle Ammerman, sister Jackie Kasher, brother John Ammerman, sister Michele Dombroski, stepmother Marianne Ammerman, great niece Sydney Anne Kashner and several beloved nieces and nephews. He was a loving Papa Jeff to Mason, Liam and Skyler.

He has positively touched so many lives and his legacy will live on through them. He will be greatly missed by so many.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 22, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. A celebration of Jeff’s life will follow at 2 p.m.

Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory, Mooresville, is proudly serving the Ammerman family. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.cavin-cook.com.
