Jeffrey Edward Freund, 61, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024. He was born November 25, 1962, in Charlotte, N.C., to Richard and Barbara Heineke Freund.

Throughout his life, Jeffrey had many different careers he enjoyed. He graduated from culinary school and worked as a chef. His love of the outdoors led him to his ownership of a landscaping company and Loafers Glory Campground in Bakersville, N.C. Jeffrey was a proud member of Lake Norman Yacht Club, where he developed a love of sailing as a young boy.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Laura Freund of Huntersville, Amy Abernathy (Jack) of Hilton Head, and Johanna Newman (Kevin) of Davidson; nephews, Christopher Phillips (Carson), Ben Newman, and Justin Newman; and nieces, Stephanie Phillips and Mary Newman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, at the family lake cottage.
