Jerolyn “Jerry” Griffin Mills, 90, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Memory Care at Brookdale High Point North. She was born on February 26, 1934, to the late Thomas William Griffin and the late Kathleen Bell Griffin.

She graduated from Statesville High School and continued her education at Mitchell Community College and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She married the late Phillip Mills, who passed away on November 12, 2020. She was a member at First Baptist Church and worked for the family business, Mills Electronics, as a bookkeeper.

She is survived by her son, Phil Mills (Janis) of Statesville; three daughters, Jeri Koontz (Steve) of Statesville, Tracy Dolan (Gene) of Greensboro, and Paige McCarter (Keith) of Greensboro; six grandchildren, Andrew Koontz (Sara), Matt Koontz and fiancée Sarah, Justin Mills, Lauren Mills and fiancé Adam, Cody Mills, and Ryan Mills; and two great grandchildren, Maddox Koontz and Weston Koontz.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Nelson Granade officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in Adam’s Hall. Burial will be held at a later date.
