Jerry Lee Black, 83, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday February 20, 2024.

Jerry was born in Iredell County, N.C., to the late Russel Clarence Black Sr. and Lottie Bell Black. Jerry was a graduate of Harmony High School. He worked for JC Penny for over 46 years. He married his beloved wife Elizabeth in 1960, and they were together 63 years until his passing. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed fishing and NASCAR. He went to many races and every August he and his wife would go watch the races. Jerry loved the Lord and was a longtime devoted member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Elizabeth Black; son, Michael Black (Shirley); daughter, Karen Bell (Clive); brothers, R.C. Black ( Irene) and Donald Black ; grandchildren, Beth Embry (Logan), Gilbert Bell (Carissa), Megan Lindley (John) Bryson Black, Paxton Black, and Cayden Black; great grandchildren, Karolynn Embry, Jameson Bell, Harper Bell and Masiy Rose Lindley.
