Jimmy Dean Welborn, 66, of Union Grove, N.C., passed away July 16, 2024, at Iredell Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Iredell County July 21, 957, to the late Lawrence Welborn Sr. and Ruby Dishmond Welborn.

He worked in lawncare and was a member of Taylor Springs Baptist Church. He was a charter member of Wilkes Volunteer Fire Department. He had a love for horses.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Linden Welborn, Lawrence Welborn, Zeb Welborn and Kenneth Welborn; two sisters, Irene Allen and Sybil Trivette; and two sisters-in-law, Wanda Welborn and Tammy Welborn.

Survivors include one brother, Alfred Welborn of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Mildred Blanton and husband Kenny and Rozelle Douglas and husband Robert, all of Union Grove; one brother-in-law, Dewitt Trivette of Union Grove; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Taylor Springs Baptist Church. Pastor Willie Mullins and Pastor Carol Ray Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Memorials may be given to Taylor Springs Baptist Church, 443 Taylor Springs Road, Union Grove NC 28689.
