Mrs. Joann Pardue Weatherman, 86, of Brookview Road, Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. She was born March 3, 1938, in Yadkin County to the late Woodrow and Madge Swaim Pardue.

Mrs. Weatherman was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker for her family. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, and gardening for them through the years. Mrs. Weatherman especially enjoyed going fishing at Cherry Grove Beach and Pier, and her passion was taking care of her beloved son, Steve, who had Down’s Syndrome. She was a member of Briar Creek Baptist Church and attended Countryside Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Dwight “Bill” Weatherman and William “Royal” Prevette; her beloved son, Steve Weatherman; a brother, Bobby Pardue; and a sister, Judy Shore.

Surviving are her son, Stanley (Corinda) Weatherman; daughter, Tammy Weatherman; grandchildren, Tyler Stevenson, Brandon (Kat) Stevenson, Jeffrey Weatherman, and Sha (Ben) Biddix; great-grandchildren, Landyn Weatherman, Jack Biddix, and Owen Biddix; her sister, Jean (Tony) Gregory; a brother, Danny (Sherry) Pardue; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 12 noon in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Kevin Hobson. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Gordon Hospice House of Statesville or to Shiloh Baptist Church in Hamptonville.
