John E. Miller, age 41, born in Shelton, Wash., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. His mother Janie passed away days after he was born.
John grew up in Shelton, Wash., and graduated from Shelton High School in 2001. After graduation John was a card dealer at Little Creek Casino in Shelton, Wash., a coach at Hood Canal School, and he worked at Walmart in Shelton, Wash. John moved to North Carolina in 2007, where he met his wife and was married in 2014. John was a devoted husband, son, brother-in-law and son-in-law. He was known for his deep extended love for his family and friends, along with his strong work ethic and values for his profession.
John had a strong faith and love for his Savior. He left his strong will testimony as a servant and Christ-like to others by showing compassion and love to all. John enjoyed wood working, sports, golfing, his animals, and working in the yard.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Janie Burns Miller; brother, Andrew Miller; and sister, Kelli Miller.
Those left to cherish and honor his memories include his wife, Christy Langston Miller of the home; his father, Bert Miller and wife Cathy; brothers, Bernie Miller and Mark Miller; mother-in-law, Patsy Elder; sister-in-law, Felicia Elder and wife Anna; brothers-in-law, Joe Langston, and Donny Elder and wife Atina.
A Celebration Service of John’s Life will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2025, in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel.
