Joyce Evelyn Poston Bowman Moore, 96, of Statesville, N.C., passed away at the Gordon Hospice House on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. She was born in Iredell County on March 2, 1928, to the late Jesse Poston and Sallie Miller Poston.

Joyce was a graduate of Statesville High School, and she worked at Lakeview Grocery. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Coite Lance Bowman and Carl Moore, and her seven siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Eddie Bowman (Glenda) of Statesville, Roger Bowman (Kathy) of Statesville, Chester Bowman (Vera) of Union Grove, and Coite “Doug” Bowman (Michelle) of Statesville; grandchildren, Bryan Bowman (Renee), LeeAnn Lee, Lisa Riddle, Bubba Bowman, Chuck Bowman, Angela Johnson (John), Justin Bowman, Dana Pendleton (Keith), and Maggie Hughes (Rick); eight great-grandchildren, Lindsey Toothaker (Chris), Logan (Seth) Mills, Lance Bowman, Josh Bowman, Kendall Bowman, Brayden Bowman, Tristan Lee, and Taylor Johnson; great-great-grandson, Carter Toothaker. She is also survived by one stepdaughter, Shirley Cloer, and one step grandson, Rodney Cloer.

The family will visit with friends on Sunday, October 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 14, at 1 p.m. at Iredell Memorial Gardens with Rev. Darren Johnson officiating.
