Karen Hopkins Staley, 78, of Troutman, N.C., passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born November 1, 1946, in Rockingham, N.C., to the late Ralph Burton Hopkins and Lucille Young Hopkins.
She was an accountant before her retirement. Karen also enjoyed working at Walmart. She loved her co-workers and customers, and they all loved her. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, putting jigsaw puzzles together, and card games.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry “Rev” Staley.
She is survived by her daughters, Kristina Bryan (Scott), Kathy Stanley, and Kelly Ramsey; brother, Ralph “Burton” Hopkins Jr. (Teri); seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The body will lie in state on Tuesday, December 17, from 12 to 5 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, December 18, from 6 to 8 p.m., also at the funeral home.
