Kenneth Braxton Blanton, 79, of Union Grove, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on September 3, 2024, at his home. He was born October 15, 1944, in Horry County to the late Barley Blanton and Pola Elvada Carter Blanton.

He served 20 years in the U.S. Army. He worked as an electrician and worked for the City of Myrtle Beach for 20 years. He attended Taylor Springs Baptist Church. He was a wonderful and loving husband; he was my life and is now with the Lord. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and a good friend. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his brothers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Magda Blanton, and second wife, Faye Blanton.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Welborn Blanton of the home; one son, Stephen Blanton of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Mickey Blanton and wife Deborah of Loris S.C., and Llyod Blanton and wife Patricia of Myrtle Beach; two grandchildren, Sydney and Seth; and two great grandchildren, Weston and Addalyn.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
