Kenton Bell, 45, of Mt. Mourne, N.C., passed away on December 24, 2024, at his home. He was born on May 1, 1979, in Statesville, NC.
Kenton was preceded in death by his father William Bell; his maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Patsy Stewart; and his paternal grandparents, Earl and Ada Bell.
He is survived by his mother Cindy Bell (fiancé Steve Winecoff) and big brother Eddie Bell.
Kenton went through the ranks in BSA in Pack and Troop 173, completing his Eagle badge. He graduated from South Iredell High School, UNC-Asheville with a double major, and the University of Wollongong (Australia) with two master’s degrees, and was working in his doctorate’s degree. He studied and worked in Australia for six years.
He was currently employed by UNC-Charlotte and Fujitsu.
Kenton had a passion for traveling. He traveled throughout the U.S., Europe and Australia. He was also a tremendous advocate for women suffering from domestic violence.
Kenton was a loyal friend to many – always putting other’s needs before his own. He enjoyed being with his friends. He had a great love for camping, movies, hiking, concerts, road trips and country music.
Kenton’s motto was “Big Up Yourself, All Day, Everyday.”
Greeting and fellowship with friends and family will be Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Helpmate, P.O. Box 2267, Asheville, NC 28802. Kenton volunteered at this women’s shelter during his UNC-A years.

I worked with Kenton at the movie theater when we were teenagers, I ran into him a few times over the years since. He was always such a nice guy. Sorry to hear of his passing.
